The male Bobolink is the only songbird that is solid black below and white and yellow above. The female Boblink and autumn male Bobolink are buff in color and have dark stripings on the crown and back. It ranges is south Canada and northern United States. It has a habitat in hayfields, meadows, marshes, and prairies. Their diet is mostly insects and seeds.
