The Boat-Tailed Grackle is a large iridescent blackbird with a longer tail. Found along the Gulf and Eastern coasts of the US, also inland in Florida.

Owls are one of the oddest birds to photograph-their appearance photographed appears so smooth that the look is unreal. I have never seen a Barn Owl in its natural habitat, so I took the opportunity to see the WE Energies Birds of Prey show. Barn Owls can be found in woodlands, farms, barns, towns, belfries, and cliffs. It preys mostly on rodents.

The Northern Mockingbird can be found in almost all of the eastern half of the states

My experience with photographing the Northern Mockingbird is that it is fairly easy. Once I am in an area it seems to want to follow me and stop in the top of a tree or bush, and then attract my attention. Being able to get fairly close, and because it is a large bird makes for a fairly good photo.
